Overview

Home coverage built for Alabama weather

Between spring tornado season, summer hailstorms, and the occasional ice storm, central Alabama homeowners need real coverage — not just the bare minimum your mortgage requires. We offer comprehensive home insurance covering wind, hail, fire, theft, and more.

When something happens to your home, you need someone in your corner. Amanda spent years as a property adjuster traveling the country after major storms, helping families recover from losses to their properties. That experience now goes to work for you every time you file a claim.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Does homeowners insurance cover tornado and wind damage?
Yes — wind and tornado damage are covered under a standard Alabama homeowners policy. However, deductibles for wind and hail are sometimes structured separately (often 1–5% of the dwelling value) depending on the carrier and your location. We'll walk you through exactly how your policy treats severe weather events.
Does homeowners insurance cover flood damage?
No. Flood is specifically excluded from every standard Alabama homeowners policy. To be covered for flooding you need a separate flood policy through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) or a private flood carrier. If you live near the Cahaba River, Black Creek, or any low-lying area in Jefferson County, ask us about flood coverage.
How much home insurance do I need?
Enough to fully rebuild your home at current construction costs — not what you paid for it or what it's worth on the market. Construction costs have climbed sharply in recent years, and underinsured homes are one of the most common surprises after a loss. We review replacement cost annually to keep your coverage in step.
What's NOT covered by a standard home policy?
Flood, earthquake, routine wear and tear, pest damage, mold from long-term leaks, and business activity run out of the home are the most common exclusions. Some of these can be added with an endorsement or a separate policy.
How does the claims process work?
Call us first, before you call the carrier. We help document the damage, file the claim, and advocate for you if the carrier's initial offer doesn't match what you're owed. Amanda's claims-adjuster background means we know exactly what carriers look for, and we make sure your claim is presented clearly the first time.
